The zoosanitary certificate for processed pet food exported from Brazil to Canada has been updated to allow alligator and ovine (sheep or lamb) meat as ingredients. Brazil will start using the new certificate on August 15, 2025. Shipments certified using the old certificate prior to August 15, 2025 are still eligible to enter Canada. The new conditions will be published in the Automated Import Reference System (AIRS) when they come into effect.
Mises à jour des conditions d’importation des aliments transformés pour animaux de compagnie en provenance du Brésil
Le certificat zoosanitaire pour les aliments transformés pour animaux de compagnie exportés du Brésil vers le Canada a été mis à jour afin d’autoriser la viande d’alligator et d’ovins (moutons ou agneaux) comme ingrédients. Le Brésil commencera à utiliser le nouveau certificat le 15 août 2025. Les expéditions certifiées à l’aide de l’ancien certificat avant le 15 août 2025 peuvent toujours entrer au Canada. Les nouvelles conditions seront publiées dans le Système automatisé de référence à l'importation (SARI) lorsqu’elles entreront en vigueur.
