US Import Restrictions on Canada / Avian Influenza

Effective on the date(s) listed below, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is updating its list of zones in Canada that are subject to restrictions on the importation of certain avian commodities.

Newly restricted zone(s) 

October 16, 2025 - PCZ-287 in Alberta 

October 20, 2025 - PCZ-288 in Manitoba 

Newly released zone(s) October 29, 2025 - PCZ-273 in Alberta

 

The updated list of currently restricted zones is provided below. Importation into the United States of poultry, commercial birds, ratites, avian hatching eggs, unprocessed avian products and byproducts, and certain fresh poultry products originating from or transiting these zone(s) is prohibited: 

  • PCZ-257 in British Columbia
  • PCZ-272 in Alberta
  • PCZ-274 in Alberta
  • PCZ-275 in Alberta
  • PCZ-276 in Quebec
  • PCZ-277 in Saskatchewan
  • PCZ-278 in Alberta
  • PCZ-279 in Alberta
  • PCZ-280 in Ontario
  • PCZ-281 in Manitoba
  • PCZ-282 in Manitoba
  • PCZ-283 in Quebec
  • PCZ-FV4 in British Columbia
  • PCZ-FV5 in British Columbia
  • PCZ-FV6 in British Columbia
  • PCZ-FV10 in British Columbia
  • PCZ-284 in Quebec
  • PCZ-285 in Manitoba
