This virtual event is part of a series aimed at providing updates on federal initiatives touching on supply chains and insights into sectoral trends, as well as offering a dedicated avenue for supply chain participants to share information and ask questions.

National Supply Chain Office Progress Update

Robert Dick, Head of the National Supply Chain Office, Transport Canada, will provide an update on Office’s recent activities. 

 

Next Steps in Data and Digitalization 

Kristina Casey, Chief Service and Digital Officer, Transport Canada will provide insights into the department’s work to leverage data and digital technologies to support Canada’s supply chain ecosystem.

 

Economic Outlook and Supply Chain Performance

Christian Dea, Chief Economist, Transport Canada, will share insights on the impact of global and domestic economic, labour, environmental, and societal drivers on transportation performance and outlook.

 

Supply Chain Initiative Spotlight: Presentation on the Maritime Information System (SODES and IMAR) 

Mathieu St-Pierre, President & CEO, Société de développement économique du Saint-Laurent (SODES)

 

Part 2: Seasonal Planning – Summer / Fall

Anticipating Summer Temperature & Precipitation / Wildfire Monitoring 

The Meteorological Service of Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, will share a temperature and precipitation outlook for the summer season, while the Canadian Forest Service, Natural Resource Canada will provide insights from its latest seasonal wildfire forecast.

 

Operator Outlook: Rail, Marine, Road, Air

Representatives from the Association of Canadian Port Authorities, CPKC, CN, Canadian Trucking Alliance, and International Air Transportation Association will provide an overview of their expectations, anticipated volumes, and challenges for their sector for the upcoming season.
