Zoosanitary certificate for pet supplements from New Zealand

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) have completed negotiations for a certificate to allow the importation of pet supplements from New Zealand.

AIRS will be updated as of April 22, 2025, which is the day that the certificate will come into effect. Products can be certified by New Zealand veterinarians for export to Canada on or after April 22nd. The zoosanitary statements can be found in this Notice to Industry.

Please remember that supplements shipped to the USA, released from official control to the importer, and then re-shipped to Canada are trans-shipments and require an import permit. You can apply for this import permit at MyCFIA.

Certificat zoosanitaire pour les compléments alimentaires pour animaux de compagnie en provenance de Nouvelle-Zélande

L’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments (ACIA) et le Ministère des industries primaires (MPI) ont complété les négociations en vue de l’obtention d’un certificat autorisant l’importation de suppléments pour animaux de compagnie en provenance de Nouvelle-Zélande.

Le système SARI sera mis à jour le 22 avril 2025, date à laquelle le certificat entrera en vigueur. Les produits peuvent être certifiés par les vétérinaires Néo-zélandais pour l’exportation vers le Canada à partir du 22 avril. Les déclarations zoosanitaires figurent dans le présent Avis à l'industrie.

À titre de rappel, les suppléments expédiés aux États-Unis, ayant obtenus la mainlevée du contrôle officiel au profit de l’importateur, puis réexpédiés au Canada sont des transbordements et nécessitent un permis d’importation. Vous pouvez demander ce permis d’importation sur MonACIA
