Monthly Survey of Manufacturing, September 2011

The following is excerpted from a 15 November 2011 release by Statistics Canada. Manufacturing sales rose 2.6% to $49.2 billion in September, the third consecutive monthly increase. The gain in September largely reflected higher sales in the petroleum and coal products and transportation equipment industries. Constant dollar manufacturing sales were up 1.8%, the third monthly gain. Higher sales were reported in 10 of 21 industries, representing 60.5% of total manufacturing. Canada Signs Telecommunications Cooperation Agreement with Mexico
