Sunday, November 6th, 2011 Time change: In order to complete the time change from the Eastern Daylight Time to Standard Time, all of the CBSA’s EDI systems will be unavailable for 120 minutes, from 01:30 (Eastern Daylight Time) until 02:30 (Eastern Standard Time). The National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America has asked the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to revise its process for designating a U.S. agent before implementing foreign facility re-inspection fees under the Food Safety Modernization Act. U.S. agents designated under FDA’s current process, which was developed under the Bioterrorist Act (BTA), serve for the limited purpose of notification, the Washington-based organization said in a Nov. 1 letter to the FDA.
