Chapter 03 was published to add OGD extensions for Aquatic Animal import requirements and Fish Inspection Program requirements. Please note that there is no requirement for an Aquatic Animal Health Import Permit at this time. However, the requirements for the Fish Inspection Program will remain as currently indicated in AIRS. These new OGD extensions replace existing OGD extensions in the following HS Codes. 03.01 - Live fish 03.02 - Fish, fresh or chilled, excluding fish fillets and other fish meat of heading No. 03.04

Transport Canada - Pre-Clearance Process - UPDATE (2)

The CSCB has received clarification from Transport Canada regarding the pre-clearance process. Two new questions and responses follow. Members with comments or questions can send them to the CSCB at [email protected] CSCB: If a dealer wishes to purchase vehicles from a U.S. manufacturer, and that manufacturer has designated an importer in Canada that appears on the pre-clearance list, is the dealer obligated to use one of the designated importers?

CFIA provided the new OGD codes for the Fish Inspection Program, including those that have shared requirements with the National Aquatic Animal Health Program. Please note that HS Codes in chapters 0304, 0305 and parts of 0307 will not be changing. CFIA will soon provide a list of HS codes that will be no longer available as of November 1st, 2011.
