A win for wine! Bill C-311 receives Royal Assent

The following is excerpted from a 28 June 2012 news release by Canada Revenue Agency. The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, announced that Dan Albas, Member of Parliament for Okanagan-Coquihalla's Private Member's Bill C-311 is expected to receive Royal Assent today. Effective immediately, the amendment to the Importation of Intoxicating Liquors Act (IILA), removes the federal restrictions prohibiting individuals from moving wine from one province to another when purchased for personal use.

CFIA Production Database Backup, 7 July

Interest rates for the third calendar quarter

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) today announced the prescribed annual interest rates that will apply to any amounts owed to the CRA and to any amounts the CRA owes to individuals and corporations. The following is a CBSA message (EDI12-054) The Electronic Commerce Unit of the Canada Border Services Agency will be closed on the statutory holiday of Monday, July 2, 2012. B3 entries processed and accepted July 2, 2012 will appear on the daily K84 notice generated at the end of the day on Tuesday, July 3, 2012. The exchange rates from Friday, June 29, 2012 to Tuesday, July 3, 2012 (inclusive) will remain unchanged. Monday, July 2, 2012 will not be counted in the calculation of overdue B3 entries. _________________________________________________
