Request to eliminate duty on certain winch straps

The Department of Finance is seeking your views on a request it received to eliminate the duty on certain winch straps used by Canadian manufacturing and trucking sectors to secure goods onto trailer / vehicle decks for transport. We are proposing to add a duty-free tariff item to subheading 6307.90, which would read as follows:

Update to the Courier Low Value Shipment Program

The CBSA has provided clarification on two of the new requirements for participation in the Courier LVS program. As well, CBSA has extended the deadline by which current participants must advise if they will continue to participate in the program. The deadline is now October 15, 2011.

CFIA Message: Temporary NISC relocation
