WTO trade facilitation deal to reduce trade costs and boost trade - Lamy

Director-General Pascal Lamy, in a speech at the World Customs Organization in Brussels on 24 June 2011, said that the implementation of the Trade Facilitation measures discussed in Geneva could reduce total trade costs by almost 10 per cent. “Every extra day required to ready goods for import or export decreases trade by around 4%”.

EU US Joint Statement on Supply Chain Security

On 23 June 2011 in Brussels, the European Union and the United States issued a joint statement on supply chain security. The statement recognizes the importance of the EU-US bilateral trade relationship, its significance for global traders and commitments relating to multilateral organizations and future areas of active cooperation.

CFIA Production Database Backup, 2 July

Quai Richelieu port of entry reopened

The Quai Richelieu port of entry has reopened and resumed normal hours of operation. On May 2, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) had to postpone the opening of this seasonal port of entry due to Richelieu River flooding.
