CBSA has confirmed that December’s K84 will be due on Friday, December 30th, 2011. Earlier this year, the CBSA advised that no late payment penalties or interest would be imposed if July’s K84 was paid by August 2, 2011. CBSA also advised that July was the last month in 2011 where an extension would be granted. Since that time, the CSCB has asked CBSA to explain their method of determining which months warrant an extension. Their response, in its entirety, is reproduced at the end of this message.,

Government of Canada Welcomes Japan's Move Toward Easing Restrictions on Beef Imports

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz today welcomed news that Japan is taking steps that could lead to improved access for beef imports from several countries, including Canada. Japan will review its domestic and import regulations for beef which may lead to expanded access for Canadian beef.
