Cierra Mateo and Mansi Sheth Winners of the 2016 CSCB Scholarships!

The CSCB Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce the winners of the CSCB Guy Graveline Scholarship and the CSCB National Scholarship recipients for 2016.

Ms. Cierra Mateo daughter of Lisa Miller of Inland Customs Brokers, Guelph, Ontario, has been awarded the Guy Graveline Scholarship.

Cierra achieved honour roll standing throughout high school, where she has received several awards for her academic proficiency, including the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Award (OECTA) for outstanding achievement in English, and the University of Toronto National Book Award.  

Cierra has been accepted to the University of Guelph Bachelor of Arts, Honours Major Philosophy program. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she plans to attend law school in pursuit of her career aspiration of becoming a lawyer.   

Cierra has volunteered over 400 hours for her community to such causes as Relay for Life and the Guelph Youth Council.  Her leadership skills were further developed by serving on her Student Council, and was its president in her final year.

Ms. Mansi Sheth, daughter of Dipti Sheth of Kuehne & Nagel, Mississauga, Ontario, has been awarded the CSCB National Scholarship.

Mansi achieved honour roll standing throughout high school, where she has received several awards for her academic achievements, including the University of Toronto National Biology Competition and the Canadian National Mathematics League.

Mansi has been accepted to the University of Toronto into the Life Sciences program.  After completing her bachelor’s degree Mansi plans to attend medical school where she will begin her pursuit of becoming a family physician. 

Mansi has amassed over 400 hours of volunteerism, most notably at a retirement and long term care facility, and demonstrated her leadership abilities as Vice President of Zonta International Club (HIV education and birthing kits for women in developing countries).

Congratulations to Cierra and Mansi!  The CSCB is proud to have been able to play a part in your ongoing education.
