CBSA Message (TCC17-225) - TCCU Web Pages : Error Code Lists

November 20, 2017

Clients Affected: All clients who transmit data electronically

The Technical Commercial Client Unit (TCCU) is pleased to announce the unveiling of the new and improved TCCU web pages. The TCCU web pages now provide clients with an intuitive and fresher look while allowing for user friendly navigation to help clients find information about EDI and Portal faster and more easily.

Did you know that you can check the meaning of most error codes on our web site?

All three-character error codes for CBSA’s EDI applications (including Single Window Initiative) can be found under the “Client Resources” tab, in the column called “Troubleshooting”. To open the file, just click on your preferred format, whether PDF or CSV.

To interpret an error code:

Search for your error code in the first column, called “EDI Message Number”.

When you have located your error code, in the same row, “Field Description” indicates which specific field is in error, and “Message Text” indicates the nature of the problem.

By doing so, you may find your answer more quickly than if you called TCCU at a peak time and waited on hold to speak to a technical support officer.

Note: Error codes for CADEX and CUSDEC B3 (typically 6 numerics) are contained in the CADEX ECCRD.
