CFIA AIRS Updates, 10 January: Additional information

Please be advised that the following is additional information pertaining to this morning's publication of chapter 44.

Chapter 44 was published to:

i) modify the import conditions for the following HS codes originating from the states of Alabama and Oklahoma.

44.01.22.0122.09 - Ash - wood chips
44.03.99.0151.08 - Ash - bark and bark mulch (untreated)
44.06.10.0140.20 - Ash - railway or tramway sleepers not impregnated
44.07.95.0133.00 - Of Ash - Not end-jointed or finger-jointed (Fraxinus spp.)
44.15.10.0001.03 - Cases, boxes, crates, drums and similar packings; cable-drums. Stand alone (not accompanied with a commodity) - with ash material.
44.15.20.0001.03 - Pallets, box pallets and other load boards; pallet collars. Stand alone (not accompanied with a commodity) - With ash material
44.18.60.0144.01 - Ash - posts and beams - non-tropical wood, not coniferous - without bark
44.18.60.0145.02 - Ash - posts and beams - non-tropical wood, not coniferous - with bark

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes originating from multiple states of the United States.

ii) change the release recommendation from "Refer to CFIA-NISC" to "Refuse entry" for the following HS codes originating from the states of Alabama and Oklahoma.

44.01.11.0120.00 - Fuel wood, firewood, forestry products (not manufactured) - Coniferous
44.01.12.0120.00 - Fuel wood, firewood, forestry products (not manufactured) - Non-coniferous
44.03.99.0131.07 - Ash - other products such as logs

This created a requirement version change for the same HS codes originating from multiple states of the United States.

iii) change the release recommendation from "Approved" to "Refer to CFIA-NISC" for the following HS code with the end use "Other end uses - imported without bark" originating from the states of Alabama, Delaware, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas.

44.01.40.0020 – Wood waste and scrap not agglomerated in logs, briquettes, pellets or similar form

This created a requirement version change for the same HS code and end use originating from multiple states of the United States.
