Chapter 11 of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures, Export, China

February 24, 2017

Please be advised that the proposed requirements for export of bone-in beef derived from cattle under thirty months (UTM) of age have been introduced to section 11.7.3.2.2(d) of the Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures. No export certificate should be issued for bone-in beef until further notice.

As part of an agreement between Canada and China, auditors will come to approve Canadian establishments to export UTM bone-in beef meat to China.  Establishments which applied to become eligible for UTM bone-in beef have to prepare written control programs, reviewed and approved by CFIA veterinarians.
