Extension of the Validity Period of Customs Notice 21-14, Temporary amendments to the requirements for requesting a 30-day extension to the 90-day period to submit certain corrections following a CBSA trade compliance final verification report

1. This Customs Notice is to advise that the validity period of Customs Notice 21-14, Temporary amendments to the requirements for requesting a 30-day extension to the 90-day period to submit certain corrections following a CBSA trade compliance final verification report, has been extended to November 20, 2021.

2. The amendments to the requirements for requesting a 30-day extension are temporary measures, and CBSA recognizes that some importers may need an additional 30 days to process corrections to incorrect declarations as a result of administrative and system challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cet avis des douanes a pour but d’informer que la période de validité de l’Avis des douanes 21-14, Changements temporaires aux conditions pour demander une prorogation de 30 jours à la période de 90 jours pour soumettre certaines corrections suivant un rapport final de vérification de l’observation commerciale de l’ASFC, a été prorogée jusqu’au 20 novembre 2021.

2. Les changements aux conditions pour demander une prorogation de 30 jours sont des mesures temporaires, et l’ASFC reconnaît que certains importateurs pourraient avoir besoin de ces 30 jours supplémentaires pour faire les corrections aux déclarations inexactes en raison des défis administratifs et de systèmes occasionnés par la pandémie du coronavirus (COVID-19).
