New Year’s Holiday Operations

CPR will maintain train operations over the New Years holiday to minimize disruption to our customers' traffic and ensure a fluid network going into 2008.

Please review and respond on the following two items so that CP can plan for your shipping requirements.

Part 1: Statutory Holiday requirements - Monday, December 24th and December 31, 2007 and Tuesday January 1, 2008

Part 2: Holiday Operating Plans – December 27th through December 31st

This message applies to all United States facilities that receive inbound and outbound carload switching services as per local service operating schedules.

This MEMO does not apply to AUTOMOTIVE PLANTS AND FACILITIES, nor bulk train shippers and receivers – your statutory service request process is managed on a weekly planning basis by your CP shipment planning team.

Part 1: Statutory Holiday requirements -  Monday, December 24th and December 31, 2007 as well as Tuesday, January 1, 2008

In an effort to streamline our service offering to you, our valued carload customer, CP is asking you to complete the following form indicating if service is required on December 24th, and December 31, 2007 and on January 1, 2008 statutory holiday along with holiday contact information.  Please return the completed form to CP no later than December 13, 2007 at 17:00 Central Time.

Based on historical service requirements, our expectation is that the statutory holiday of December 24th, and December 31, 2007 and January 1, 2008, will be observed by your facility unless CP is otherwise notified.  If we do not receive the completed form by December 13th at 17:00 Central Time, CP will plan for closed-gate status at your facility and we will not schedule a switch to spot or lift cars on your behalf on December 24th, and  December 31, 2007 and January 1,  2008.

Requests for service received by CP after 17:00 Central Time December 13th may be considered and will be subject to a supplemental charge as outlined in Tariff 6666 Item 11020.  Please send an email to [email protected] to receive a copy of the special switch request form as per Tariff 6666 Item 11020 for completion.
