EICS: Frozen pork from the European Union as specified in the Surtax Order

This message applies to imports of frozen pork from the European Union falling under tariff item No. 0203.29.00 of the Customs Tariff.

The purpose of this message is to inform you that the 2010-2011 tariff rate quota (TRQ) for frozen pork from the European Union will be accessible on Monday, July 5, 2010, at 12:00 hrs (noon) Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Any applications submitted prior to 12:00 hrs EDT on Monday, July 5, 2010 will be rejected.

Under the European Union Surtax Order, the TRQ level established for frozen pork, for the twelve month period August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2011 is 2,970,000 kilograms. It covers imports originating in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Federal Republic of Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Applications are permitted for shipments that will enter Canada on or after August 1, 2010. Companies are reminded that each shipment of frozen pork is to be imported with one unique permit which has one unique Canada Border Services Agency transaction number.
