Entry Into Force of Softwood Lumber Agreement

The following note to softwood lumber exporters was issued by DFAIT on 6 October 2006.

Canada and the United States have agreed that the Softwood Lumber Agreement will enter into force on October 12, 2006. Effective that date, every shipment of softwood lumber to the United States will require an export permit, as specified in Notice to Exporters Serial No. 143

Further information on the determination of Regional Trigger and Quota Volumes for October 2006 will be available on Tuesday, October 10, 2006.
