Message to Customs Brokers regarding Softwood Lumber Exporters.
 
The following message is from the EICB.
In accordance with the “Softwood Lumber Products Export Charge Act”, all exporters of softwood lumber to the United States are required to be registered with Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA).
In order to ensure compliance of this regulation, effective March 1, 2007 all Export and Import Controls Bureau (EICB) file numbers for softwood lumber companies without a valid CRA registration number will be set to “inactive”.
Once the exporter has registered with CRA, the EICB file number will be re-activated.
