OTA Meets with Minister of Economic Development – Border Delays and Driver Shortage Discussed

The following press release was issued by the Ontario Trucking Association on 20 September 2004.

OTA President David Bradley met with [Ontario] Economic Development Minister Joe Cordiano … to discuss ongoing congestion problems at the Ontario-US border as well as the looming driver shortage.

On the border issue the minister expressed his deep concern for the negative economic impact that border delays are having. He agreed wholeheartedly that action must be taken soon and promised that the Ontario government is making every effort to speed up the process of making needed infrastructure improvements in Windsor as well as at the other border crossings. …
