Refined sugar - Statement of Reasons-expiry review determination

Concerning an expiry review determination under paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act respecting the dumping of refined sugar originating in or exported from the United States of America, Denmark, the federal republic of Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and the subsidizing of refined sugar originating in or exported from the European Union.

Decision

Ottawa, March 16, 2021

On March 1, 2021, pursuant to paragraph 76.03(7)(a) of the Special Import Measures Act, the Canada Border Services Agency determined that the expiry of the orders made by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal on October 30, 2015, in Expiry Review No. RR‑2014‑006:

  1. is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of refined sugar originating in or exported from the United States of America
  2. is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of refined sugar originating in or exported from Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom and
  3. is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of subsidizing of refined sugar originating in or exported from the European Union
