Restoration of Canadian Beef Export to Taiwan

July 22, 2016

Taiwan has removed its temporary ban on import of Canadian beef and beef products. Taiwan will accept beef and beef products derived from animals slaughtered and processed on or after July 8, 2016.

The export certification requirements are outlined in Chapter 11 of Meat Hygiene Manual of Procedures.

The official veterinarians must forward a copy of the signed export certificate to Dr. Yadvinder Sandhu as soon as the first consignment of beef and beef products destined to Taiwan is certified. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency will forward the pertinent information to Taiwanese authorities so that they can make arrangements for import inspection of Canadian beef shipments.
