Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Canada – EU Trade and Investment Enhancement Agreement Negotiations (TIEA)

Members will know that the Government will be undertaking a strategic environmental assessment of the negotiations for a Trade and Investment Enhancement Agreement with the European Union, as noted in the message sent on 23 July, at:

ITC is inviting comments on any likely and significant environment impacts of the negotiations on Canada. In 2001 DFAIT developed a Framework for Conducting Environmental Assessments, and this will be used for the forthcoming negotiations.

Members wishing to comment on the TIEA are asked to do so by 16 September. Further information is available on the ITC web site, at:
