We Welcomed You to Regional Meetings

Last month CSCB National, with the co-operation of CSCB regional leaders, hosted three regional conferences in conjunction with regional annual meetings. Each year three regions hold conferences planned and supported by the national office, and this year the events were held in Montréal (for the Québec Region), Niagara Falls (Ontario Region) and Vancouver (British Columbia Region).

We were pleased to welcome the more than 150 members and CCS designates who attended the meetings. CSCB President Carol West spoke at each event, supported by members of the CSCB Board of Directors, CSCB regional representatives, guest speakers, representatives from the Canada Border Services Agency and other trade facilitation stakeholder organizations, including the Port of Vancouver, the Shipping Federation of Canada, the BC and Ontario Trucking Associations, CPR, NYK Line, the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority.

Here’s what people had to say about the meetings:

“The segments and presentations were all relevant, timely, and well organized.” (from Ontario Region)

“All of the presentations were incredible. I truly could not select one to be removed or one which surpassed the others.” (from British Columbia Region)

“Thank you for a very informative day!” (from Québec Region)

These meetings provide an invaluable opportunity for members and CCS designates to learn about the latest issues. There was particular interest in, and appreciation for, Bob Harris’s session on “The Management of Change in Client Relationships – A Practical Guide for Corporate Leaders”. Mr. Harris will speak at our national conference at Mont Tremblant in September, on “Implementation and Communication of Pricing Changes”. We encourage you to come to the conference to enjoy and benefit from this timely presentation on pricing review as a consistent element of your client relationships, with practical tips for implementation of pricing initiatives.

We are always glad to meet members at regional events. The value that you as a member get from the Society is based to some degree on your participation in meetings such as these. We encourage your attendance in future, and thank everyone involved in the 2005 meetings for your support and good cheer! See you at Mont-Tremblant in September!
