Secretary Napolitano's First International Travel

The following news release was issued on March 6th by Department of Homeland Security.

Secretary Napolitano is committed to strengthening relationships between the United States and countries around the world, which will help keep the United States more safe and secure. In the coming weeks, she will take her first international trips as Secretary, to coordinate with our Canadian, Mexican and European partners.

Next week, she will travel to Germany to participate in the G6 Summit. In April, Secretary Napolitano will travel to Canada and Mexico. Not only are these two countries our geographical neighbors, but they are also good friends, strong economic and trade partners, and vital in sharing security information that can affect the U.S., Canada, and Mexico...
