Plant Protection Policy Directives Revised

Members are advised that the following plant protection policy directives are now available on the CFIA website:

Directive D-08-05 "Canadian Fruit Tree Export Program (CFTEP) for Malus, Pyrus, Chaenomeles, Cydonia and Prunus spp."
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/protect/dir/d-08-05e.shtml

Directive D-04-01 "Canadian Nursery Certification Program (CNCP)"
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/protect/dir/d-04-01e.shtml
This directive has been amended to remove the statement appearing in the "scope" section that states that participation to the CNCP will become mandatory 5 to 7 years following publication of this directive. This change is being made to better harmonize with the requirements of the U.S. Nursery Certification Program, and to maintain the competitiveness of Canadian nursery growers.

Appendix 1 "Counties in the Continental United States which are Considered Free of Apple Maggot on the Basis of Official Annual Surveys" of Directive D-00-07 "Import and domestic phytosanitary requirements to prevent the introduction and spread of apple maggot (Rhagoletis pomonella spp. (Walsh))."
http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/protect/dir/appmaggote.shtml

Appendix 1 "List of North American Gypsy Moth Infested or Suspected Infested Areas of Canada and the United States" of Directive D-98-09 "Comprehensive policy to control the spread of North American gypsy moth, Lymantria dispar in Canada and the United States" http://www.inspection.gc.ca/english/plaveg/protect/dir/gmlist_e.shtml
