NRCan's Proposed Amendment for Residential Boilers

The following bulletin was provided by NRCan.

Residential gas and oil-fired boilers are regulated products under Canada’s Energy Efficiency Regulations. Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) intends to amend the Regulations to require dealers to comply with more stringent minimum energy performance standards for residential gas and oil-fired boilers, and add prescriptive requirements for electric boilers, imported or shipped inter-provincially, for sale or lease in Canada. The regulations will also contain a reporting requirement for electrical consumption of auxiliary equipment.

The purpose of this document is to provide the stakeholders with background information on the content of the proposed amendment to the regulations so that they can submit comments before proceeding with pre-publication in the Canada Gazette, Part 1.

The bulletin is available in English (pp. 1-5) and French (pp. 6-10) at: http://www.cscb.ca/listinfo/ResidBoilers_20090501.pdf.
