The Canadian dollar reversed early losses to hit a session peak against its U.S. counterpart on Friday after data showed the American economy added far more jobs than the market expected.

Shortly after the report, the Canadian dollar rose to C$0.9980, or US$1.0020. It had earlier hit a session low of C$1.0034 following soft Canadian jobs data. Canada's currency finished at C$0.9996, or US$1.0004, on Thursday.
