Initiation of Investigation into Certain Iodinated Radiographic Contrast Media

On 20 August Revenue Canada initiated a dumping investigation into certain iodinated radiographic (X-ray) contrast media originating in or exported from the USA (including the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico).

This investigation follows a complaint filed by Mallinckrodt Medical Inc. of Pointe-Claire, QC (the complainant). The complainant alleges that the dumping of the contrast media products has resulted in price erosion, lost sales, reduced margins and loss of market share. Revenue Canada expects to reach a preliminary decision on this matter within 90 days.
