Trucking Strike Continues in Quebec

The following information is from Mr. Paul Hughes of the Quebec Region. We are grateful for his updates.

The truckers' illegal walk-out continues as of today, despite very tough legislation passed by the Quebec provincial government. Most truckers are simply staying home and refusing to report for work.

There are a very limited numbers of truckers actually working. The number of picketers has decreased at port/terminal entrances has decreased, possibly due to police filming those truckers present for future sanctions. Both CN and CP as of this morning report no picketers present; however, this may change.

Compounding the situation, office workers at both Shed 77 (Cast Terminal) and Shed 59 (Racine Terminal) are on strike today and both these terminals at the port of Montreal are closed for today.
