Woven Terry Cloth of 100 Per Cent Cotton (Request No. TR-2000-002)

On 12 January 2001 the CITT issued its report, with a recommendation, to the Minister of Finance regarding a request for tariff relief filed on 18 July 2000 by Majestic Industries (Canada) Ltd., respecting woven terry cloth of 100 per cent cotton.

RECOMMENDATION

The Tribunal hereby recommends to the Minister that tax relief be granted, for a indeterminate period of time, on importations from all countries of terry fabric, solely of cotton, warp pile, bleached or dyed, of a weight of 350 g/m2 or more but not exceeding 450 g/m2, of subheading No. 5802.19, for use in the manufacture of bathrobes and men's shave wraps.
