CSCB Chairman Speaks at Prestigious Trade Facilitation Event

CSCB Chairman Tom Mountain spoke to the fifth annual Trade Corridors Conference in Niagara on the Lake on 28 October.

The Trade Corridors Conference, launched by the Sarnia-Lambton Chamber of Commerce in 19998, fosters partnerships and economic activities along southwestern Ontario-northern US corridor routes. They deal with infrastructure issues and build awareness of bi-national trade and transportation issues both nationally and regionally.

Mr. Mountain spoke about the links between Customs, Immigration and Trade partners on a panel that included officials from the US Customs Service and CCRA, as well as representatives from the Canadian and US Immigration departments. He was the only private sector speaker on this panel, and the only customs broker invited to speak to the conference. This was an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about customs brokers and their integral place in the international trade continuum.
