Waiver of Penalty re Computer Problems with EDI on 20 January 2003

The following message is from the Electronic Commerce Unit of the CCRA.

The following is to confirm that the mainframe problems affecting Customs EDI systems yesterday have been resolved; the problems were the result of a non-recurring error. For transactions that were due yesterday (January 20, 2003) and accepted by 8 pm (Eastern time) today (January 21, 2003) for which a penalty is incurred, the penalty will be waived by the CCRA without the need for clients to file an application.
