Update to CFIA Directives

Appendix 5 of Directive D-96-15 has been revised to indicated areas infected, or suspected of being infected, with Japanese Beetle in Canada and the United States. This appendix is found at:

Directive D-98-08, “Entry Requirements for Wood Packaging Materials Produced in all Areas Other than the Continental United States” has been revised to provide for a transition period in enforcement measures related to implementation of import requirements. The phytosanitary measures being applied to control pests associated with discharge of ship-borne dunnage have been clarified. Also clarified is that a Phytosanitary Certificate is acceptable to indicate that wood packaging material has been treated as required. The Directive is found at:
