CN626 Control of Ketamine Under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

The purpose of this notice is to announce that Health Canada has recently made a determination that ketamine is a controlled substance under Schedule 1 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Narcotic Control Regulations….

Effective immediately, all offences and penalties associated with Schedule 1 of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act are applicable to ketamine….

Effective 31 August 2005 all importers, manufacturers, distributors and health care professionals must comply with the requirements of the Narcotic Control Regulations and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
