Serial No. 793 1.0 Purpose 1.1 This Notice sets out the Minister’s policies and practices respecting supplementary imports for chicken and chicken products. 1.2 This Notice should be read with the Export and Import Permits Act (EIPA) and the EIPA Regulations. Where elements of the present Notice augment relevant sections of the EIPA and Regulations, those elements are to be read as expressions of the Minister’s normal practices and procedures.

International Trade Minister Ed Fast Visits Washington to Promote Vital Importance of Canada-U.S. Trade and Defend Canadian Interests

The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, today concluded a productive two-day visit to Washington to reinforce the vital importance of a strong Canada-U.S. relationship that benefits Canadians and Americans alike. His trade visit to Washington included talks with his counterpart, United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk, as well as other government officials.

Courier Low Value Shipment Program Changes

Over the past couple of months, the CSCB has met with CBSA on multiple occasions to discuss how we could ensure that current business models were respected while meeting CBSA's needs within the reform of the CLVS program. Further to the initial program changes announced in June of this year, CBSA has now issued two communiqués outlining their plans for further amendment of the Courier Low Value Shipment (CLVS) Program.

Ottawa may scrap more import tariffs
