AMPS - updated Master Penalty Document (short version)

CBSA has posted on its website a revised short version of the AMPS Master Penalty Document (MPD). This document has been updated to reflect the new penalty amounts. Please note that the backgrounders are no longer shown, and we have followed up with CBSA regarding this omission. This memorandum contains the text of the Regulations exempting goods originating in Haiti, for which the benefits of the General Preferential Tariff (GPT) or the Least Developed Country Tariff (LDCT) will be claimed, from the condition of direct shipment from Haiti on a through bill of lading when the goods are shipped through a port in the Dominican Republic.

Reduction of Statistical Suffixes Statistics Canada is planning to reduce the number of 10-digit HS classification codes. Imports of certain apple juice concentrate The Department of Finance is currently reviewing a request for the removal of the customs duties on imports of apple juice concentrate, not less than 700 Brix, for use in the production of apple juice. This concentrate is classified under tariff item No. 2009.79.10 of the Customs Tariff, dutiable at 9.35 cents/litre but not less than 8.5% under the Most-Favoured-Nation (MFN) Tariff. There is no rate available under the General Preferential Tariff (GPT) for this concentrate.
