This memorandum outlines and explains the conditions under which a settler may import goods into Canada for personal or household use without the payment of duties. Revisions Revisions made to this memorandum are the result of a need for clarification which is achieved by updating the Accounting for Goods section of Guidelines and General Information. The update clarifies which immigration documents issued to a traveller are to be cross-referenced with the Form B4, Personal Effects Accounting Document.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) assists Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (FAITC) with the administration of the United Nations Act, the Special Economic Measures Act, the Export and Import Permits Act and associated Regulations. This memorandum outlines the key elements of the legislation administered by the CBSA. Revisions The memorandum has been updated to include Regulations Implementing the United Nations Resolution on Eritrea.

The following was written by Peter Hall, Vice-President and Chief Economist, Export Development Canada. It was the best of times. In late 2008, it turned into the worst of times. Then came abject pessimism, followed by a period of uncertainty and volatility. Sentiment was tentative as the world economy entered 2010, but the resumption of growth has lifted spirits, and prompted economy-watchers to hail the long-awaited recovery. Is this nascent rise the real thing, or does recovery still elude our grasp?

The Canadian economy grew for a sixth straight month in February, as the manufacturing sector powered the recovery ahead while the Vancouver Winter Olympics also provided a lift. The 0.3 per cent expansion reported by Statistics Canada Friday was in line with economists’ forecasts and came largely on the strength of a 1.2 per cent gain for factories, which saw increases in production of goods such as metals and pharmaceuticals.

The Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) has decided not to advertise for a new highway sufferance warehouse at this port. 2. Therefore, all bonded highway carriers transporting in-bond commercial freight destined for clearance at the port of St-Hyacinthe, Quebec should report to an alternate highway sufferance warehouse.

The Motor Vehicle Safety Act regulates the importation of vehicles to reduce the risk of death, injury, and damage to property and the environment.
