Canadian trade increases again in 2011

Extension of Investigations - Certain Potassium Silicate Solids

Seasonal hours begin April 5 at Wild Horse

The following is a 3 April 2012 news release by CBSA. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reminds travellers that the Wild Horse port of entry will extend its seasonal hours of operation effective April 5, 2012. The seasonal hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week, until October 31, 2012, for all traveller and commercial traffic entering Canada or the United States. The Wild Horse port of entry is located 145 km south of Medicine Hat, Alberta, on Highway 41, and 70 km north of Havre, Montana, on Highway 232.

Canadian international merchandise trade: Annual review, 2011

The following is excerpted from a 4 April 2012 release by Statistics Canada. In 2011, Canada's international merchandise trade experienced a second consecutive year of gains, following the large decrease recorded in 2009, bringing Canada's total trade—exports and imports combined—within 2.0% of the record levels posted in 2008. Canada's reliance on the United States as a trading partner continued to decline, as Asia and Europe gained further ground.

Government of Canada Strengthens Agricultural Co-Operation With Kazakhstan

Correction Period for March Softwood Lumber Permits

Brokers are advised that the correction period for MARCH 2012 Softwood Lumber permits ends April 10, 2012, at 17:00 ET. We remind you of the importance of submitting correct information on permits as this is imperative to the operation of the Softwood Lumber Agreement. CFIA Message: Import Processing delays due to Easter Long weekend

All CFIA Systems are working normally. With the upcoming Easter long weekend CFIA is presently experiencing higher than normal volumes of Import Shipments. Expect delays in the processing of these import requests. Extra staff are working to address the high volume and delays. New CBSA Integrated Stamp

Effective April 2, 2012, the Canada Border Serivces Agency (CBSA) began using a new CBSA integrated stamp. This stamp will replace legacy customs and immigration stamps previously in use. All previous versions of customs and immigration stamps will be retired and will no longer be authorized for use. _________________________________________________
