It sets out the requirement to apportion goods and services between commercial and non‑commercial activities, and outlines methods for doing so. It also explains the rules affecting ITCs in respect of improvements to capital property as well as those for leases and ongoing services.

Consumer spending and exports contributed the most to fourth-quarter GDP growth. Final domestic demand grew 0.5%. On a monthly basis, real GDP by industry increased 0.4% in December. Consumer spending on goods and services expanded 0.7% in the fourth quarter, up from the 0.4% gain in the previous quarter. Purchases of durable goods grew 2.1%, up from a 0.2% decline.

Canada's current account deficit (on a seasonally adjusted basis) narrowed by $2.0 billion in the fourth quarter to $10.3 billion, largely the result of an increase in the export of goods. The CFIA has contacted the CSCB regarding issues with faxing packages to the NISC and NSO. They have stressed that faxes not be resent, and details are provided in the following message from CFIA. They are attempting to fix the faxing issue this weekend and will be providing an update after that time. The updates taking place this weekend are expected to have minimal impact on business.
