CFIA Message: Guidelines for faxing import documentation

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is reminding brokers/importers to adhere to the following guidelines when submitting documentation to the CFIA's National Import Service Centre (NISC). Import-related documents should be faxed only once to the NISC, along with the transmission of your Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) submission. Please refrain from re-faxing documents unless directed to do so by the NISC. All faxes are now to be sent to the new centralized fax number at 1-613-773-9999.

New NEXUS lane now open at Abbotsford-Huntingdon border crossing

The following is excerpted from a 25 July 2012 news release by Canada Border Services Agency. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced that NEXUS members can now enjoy crossing simply and smoothly into Canada at a new NEXUS lane at the Abbotsford-Huntingdon, British Columbia and Sumas, Washington border crossing. The lane is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m., seven days a week for entry into Canada.
