Individual Import Permits for Steel - Update

Further to messages sent to members on May 31, 2010 and September 9, 2011 regarding the requirement for an individual import permit for steel, today’s issue of the Canada Gazette advises that effective April 1, 2012, individual import permits for steel will no longer be required. General Import Permit Numbers 80 and 81 will be amended to remove their current limitations.

In Russia, Canada should look for investment, not trade

Canada to defend its farmers in Pacific talks

Canada will defend a tariff structure that supports its farmers as the country pushes for entry into a pan-Pacific trade pact, Canada's trade minister said on Monday. Government of Canada Invests to Help Farmers Boost Soybean Exports

The following is excerpted from a 12 March 2012 news release by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. The Government of Canada is supporting the development of new international markets for Canadian soybean farmers, Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz announced today. An investment of more than $88,000 will help the Canadian Soybean Council (CSC) and the Canadian International Grains Institute (CIGI) work together to create a targeted trade development strategy aimed at boosting sales in key markets abroad.

USDA seeks changes to beef import rules
