OECD sees 3% GDP growth in 2010

The following is from the 18 November 2010 edition of “The Canadian Business Journal”. Canada's gross domestic product should grow by 3 per cent this year, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development said today. The OECD's projected numbers sees the total value of goods and services produced in the country growing by 2.3 per cent next year and 3.0 per cent in 2012. The OECD said activity through 2011-12 should progress “at a moderate pace,” and business investment will be “robust” over that period of time.

CBSA has advised that an eManifest poster, “ATTENTION Highway Carriers!” (BSF5128) is available. CSCB members may wish to make these posters available to clients and in their offices. The purpose of this poster is to inform highway carriers of the upcoming implementation of eManifest in the highway mode. The 22” x 14” posters are bilingual with English on one side and French on the reverse.

Although payment for December 2010's monthly K84 statements will be due as usual on December 31, 2010, the CBSA realizes that the number of statutory holidays and where they fall during the work week create a challenge for clients. Therefore, the CBSA will not issue a late payment penalty or charge interest if the payment is received after December 31, 2010, but before January 4, 2011, 4:30 PM local time. Should payments be received after January 4, 2011, 4:30 PM local time, they will be subject to interest and penalties dating back to January 4, 2011.
