Billionaire jailed in dispute over U.S.-Canada bridge project

CBSA Message: Transmitting Accurate eManifest Cargo Data

CBSA provided this communiqué to advise clients transmitting eManifest highway carrier data to the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) of the importance of transmitting accurate data and presentation of bar codes on arrival at the border. Background on the Canada-Cameroon Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA) Negotiations

The following is a 10 January 2012 notice from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada. Canada and Cameroon have agreed to begin negotiations towards a Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA). The parties have pledged to work together to conclude an agreement in a timely manner. The first round of negotiations took place in November 2011 in Ottawa.

CCS Examination Results - 2011

Congratulations to the students who successfully completed the CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) course and are now entitled to use the CCS designation. The passing grade for the CCS course is 65%. The final grade is based on the results of the final examination plus the results of four tests taken throughout the year. The average grade of the 2010-11 CCS course was 73%, and the mark that occurred the most was 63%. The highest grade was 95%, with 2 students achieving this mark. The following students received the highest marks – well done!

CFIA HS Code Filter list

The CSCB has contacted CFIA regarding the January 6th, 2012 CFIA HS Code Filter list. We understand that this list will be further updated this week, but have asked CFIA to explain the delay in updating this list and if a paper release is required for goods whose HS Code has not been included on the list. Following is CFIA’s response. Sorry for all the confusion surrounding the CFIA HS Code Filter List with all the changes that resulted from the WCO updates.
