Prince Rupert Leads the Way in N. America Port Growth

The following is from the 7 May 2012 edition of the Journal of Commerce. The 4-year-old British Columbia port was 2011’s fastest-growing North American container hub Prince Rupert, British Columbia, was the fastest-growing container port in North America in 2011, ramping up its export strategy and spiking 59.1 percent export growth year-over-year. Overall trade at the port grew 30 percent from 2010.

Goods: Certain liquid dielectric transformers having a top power handling capacity equal to or exceeding 60 000 kilovolt amperes (60 megavolt amperes), whether assembled or unassembled, complete or incomplete, originating in or exported from the Republic of Korea. CITT will conduct a preliminary inquiry into the question of injury to the Canadian industry.

Brokers are advised that the correction period for APRIL 2012 Softwood Lumber permits ends May 9, 2012, at 17:00 ET. We remind you of the importance of submitting correct information on permits as this is imperative to the operation of the Softwood Lumber Agreement.
