The CSCB is a member of PIP, and also sits on the BCCC Trusted Trader Subcommittee. The Trusted Trader Subcommittee supports consultation between the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and industry partners on the cohesive implementation of a CBSA trusted trader strategy that leverages all trusted trader programs.

Following Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s successful trade mission to China, where several agreements were reached that will deepen the trade and investment ties between Canada and China, the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, and Canadian officials continue to indicate Canada’s interest in joining the negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

This notice is to remind importers and brokers that phase 8 implementation of the changes to import notification requirements for products in the non-federally registered food sector will come into effect on February 27, 2012.
