The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is continuing work next week on additional improvements to the interim Port of Entry in the City of Cornwall that began on July 5.

1. The purpose of this notice is to advise that effective June 25, 2010, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) licensed Mathers Freight Management as the new Highway Sufferance Warehouse operation for the Halifax, N.S. port. 2. Mathers Freight Management is located at 165 Burbridge Avenue, Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth, N.S. 3. All bonded highway carriers transporting in-bond commercial freight destined for clearance at the Halifax, N.S. port should report to this highway sufferance warehouse.

NRCan has published a notice that clarifies proposed regulations for External Power Supplies and Standby Power. The proposed regulations were pre-published on June 12, 2010, in Part I of the Canada Gazette. If the regulations are published as proposed, all products manufactured after July 1, 2010, are regulated products that must comply with the regulations if they are imported or cross provincial borders for the purposes of sale of lease. (Following is a message from CFIA) As of July 19, 2010, the import of fresh table grapes for consumption that were produced and/or packed in areas of California that are regulated for European grapevine moth (EGVM), Lobesia botrana, will be approved, provided that the fruits were produced and/or packaged in a facility that is registered under a compliance agreement for EGVM with the USDA. Vineyards located outside of the regulated areas of California are not targeted by the requirements related to Lobesia botrana.

On July 13, 2010, the Government of Canada concluded the regulatory process to add the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea) to the Area Control List (ACL). As a result of the addition of North Korea to the ACL, all exporters wishing to export any goods or technology to North Korea will be required to obtain an export permit from the Export Controls Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in order to lawfully export or transfer such items to North Korea.
