A/Director, Permit Operations, Client Services and Reporting, Global Affairs Canada
Kiani has been serving as Deputy Director in Permit Operations, Client Services, and Reporting Trade and Export Controls at Global Affairs Canada since 2022. In this role, Kiani manages the product development of two critical IT systems for trade controls (NEICS & NEXCOL), which support approximately $31 billion of the Canadian economy. These systems facilitate the issuance of 284,000 import and export permits, implement international trade agreements, and provide data analytics for Parliamentary reporting.
Before this role, Kiani played a pivotal role in supporting major IT projects, enhancing service delivery, and developing policies and business requirements. She also served as Program Manager for Workload Migration at Shared Services Canada, managing the strategic planning and program delivery of 14 data migration projects. Additionally, Kiani was a Senior Advisor to the Director General, contributing to financial reporting, strategic planning, and organizational restructuring.
