Maninder Sidhu

Member of Parliament, Brampton East, Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on International Trade (CIIT)

Maninder Sidhu was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Brampton East in 2019.

Mr. Sidhu previously served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Development. He has been a member of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources, the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, and the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development. He has also been a member of various other committees, parliamentary associations, and interparliamentary groups, including the Canada-Africa Parliamentary Association, the Canada-Europe Parliamentary Association, and the Canadian Section of ParlAmericas.

After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Mr. Sidhu built a successful customs brokerage business. He is the founder of The Kindness Movement, which supports economically disadvantaged students in Canada and India. He also mentors aspiring young entrepreneurs in his community.

Mr. Sidhu lives with his wife and children in Brampton, which he has called home for over 30 years.
